Day Masters (일간)
The 일간 — the day stem — is what a Saju reading works from: the self the chart is built around.
- Wood
- A 목 Wood day master pushes toward growth and takes obstruction personally.
- Fire
- A 화 Fire day master runs warm and visible, and is read from across the room before it has said anything.
- Earth
- A 토 Earth day master holds the centre: dependable, and slow to be talked out of a position.
- Metal
- A 금 Metal day master is the refining one — precise, decisive, and inclined to cut what is not working.
- Water
- A 수 Water day master moves around obstacles rather than through them, and keeps its depth out of sight.
