Cookies and what your browser keeps
Effective date: 2026-10-26
distoria.shop uses three cookies, and asks your browser to keep three preferences. All of them are needed for a feature you use, and none of them tracks you: no analytics, no advertising, no social-media plug-in, no pixel. That is why the Site asks for no consent: the law exempts what is strictly necessary to provide a service you request.
Every file the Site loads, its fonts included, comes from distoria.shop itself: opening a page sends nothing to any other company. Only if you choose "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Apple" does a window of yours go to Google or Apple, to sign in there.
The cookies
| Name | What it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|
__Secure-astro.session_token |
Keeps you signed in. It holds a random token, and nothing about you. It is sent only to distoria.shop, and page scripts cannot read it | Until you sign out, or 30 days |
__Secure-astro.state |
While you sign in with Google or Apple: ties its answer to the browser that asked, so no one else's answer can sign you in. A random value, nothing about you; sent only to distoria.shop, and page scripts cannot read it | Five minutes, and deleted once Google or Apple answers |
__Secure-astro.better-auth-passkey |
While you add a passkey or sign in with one: ties your device's answer to the request that asked for it. A random value, signed, nothing about you; sent only to distoria.shop, and page scripts cannot read it | Five minutes |
You only get them if you create an account or sign in: the second only with Google or Apple, the third only when you press a passkey button. The __Secure- at the start of each name tells your browser to send it only over an encrypted connection.
What your browser keeps
These stay in your browser (its "local storage"). They are never sent to us unless a feature needs them, and never to anyone else.
| Name | What it is for |
|---|---|
astro.lang |
The language you chose for the Site |
astro.systemSelection |
The reading systems you ticked, so they stay ticked |
astro.shares.v1 |
The readings you shared from this browser: each link, and the key that lets you delete it. No birth details |
They stay until you clear them.
How to remove them
Signing out deletes the cookie. Your browser's settings let you delete the cookie and the Site's local storage at any time ("Clear site data" or "Cookies and site data"). If you delete the shared readings list, you can no longer delete those links from this browser; write to us and we will delete them.
Changes
If we ever add a cookie or storage that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first, and update this notice. See also our Privacy policy.
